Family Workout Time
Wow! Can you believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone? Last week was CRAZY at our house. We don’t have family close by, so the holidays often mean traveling. It can be exhausting but we love spending time with our family so it is worth it for sure! We started off our holiday weekend with a little family workout. :)  It is so fun to watch the boys working out and wanting to be strong and healthy like mommy and daddy. I find myself having a proud mommy moment every time I look at this picture!

I did really well with nutrition all last week until Saturday. I’m not going to lie. We had my family’s Thanksgiving dinner and I was weak to all of the good food. There are some dishes that only come out for holidays so I allowed myself to partake. I won’t feel guilty about it. I will let it go and move on because this is all about a lifestyle change. It is NOT a diet. I am working towards finding a balance that works for me!

If you follow me on Facebook, you have seen me posting in about Insanity Max:30. You may be asking yourself ‘What is it?’, ‘How is it different than the original Insanity?’, or ‘How can I get my copy?!’. Hopefully I will answer all of your questions here!

What is Insanity Max:30?


Insanity Max:30 uses 150 new cardio and strength moves to make you push harder and dig deeper than ever before. For 30 minutes each day (5 days a week), you will need to be ready to MAX OUT. It’s not about getting through all 30 minutes, it’s about pushing yourself to your limits to get into the best shape of your life! You push until you are ‘MAXED OUT’! Each day you will write down the amount of time you go until your first break. Then the next day you push even hard to make it even longer. There is no equipment needed. 1. Last weekend we had an awesome time with my extended family. I am so blessed to have a family that is so full of love! My grandparents have been together for 59 years and have been an excellent example to show us what love and family is all about!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? Where has the past year gone? I feel like I blinked and it went from summer to winter. The temperatures here are definitely saying ‘WINTER IS HERE!’ :) Along with this time of year comes holiday season. We all get super busy. We skip meals and then when we finally get the chance to eat, we over indulge. We have work parties and holiday parties on the weekends. There are holiday treats EVERYWHERE! We don’t stand a chance to the expanding waistline, right? WRONG!! You can totally survive the holidays, enjoy yourself and not have to add a notch to your belt!

Wouldn’t it feel amazing to come into the new year with a different perspective than years past? I don’t know about you, but I have started many new years in a food coma from the 2 months prior. It doesn’t have to be that way. Surviving the holidays doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the parties, food and drinks. It just means that you have to find the balance and I can help you!

T25 Clean Eating Meal Plan and Progress Update

Fit is not a desitination, it's a way of life
I'm going to be honest. The first week and probably a half, I was questioning whether T25 was going to be the program for me. It is always hard to adjust to a new program. Especially when you are doing something like PiYo and switch to a style like T25. I often tell my challengers that they need to give a program a week or two to really settle in, adjust and find your groove. That is true for me as well. I know if I stick it out, I will adjust and quickly be saying how much I love it. :) That epiphany happened for me Friday morning. Shaun T was kicking my butt on double day with lower focus and I thought...I am going to make it through the whole thing without having to stop and curse him! LOL! We just have to keep pushing. I know it is hard. I know it hurts. No one is watching so you could stop...but YOU know. You are only hurting yourself. You have to make that decision not to give up. If you have to modify, fine! At least you are still moving and guess what, one day you will surprise yourself and suddenly you won't need to modify anymore! I have learned how strong I really am from pushing through my struggles. You can do it too!

So I'm really looking forward to this next week with my renewed vigor and dedication. As I head into week 3 I know it is just going to keep getting better and I will keep getting stronger. That's not to say I won't throw a curse or two Shaun's way. ;)

High Five for Friday

Another blog that I follow does a weekly High Five for Friday post. She reviews fun, positive things that happened throughout her week. I LOVE this idea! You know I'm all about spreading motivation, love, and positivity. So I'm going to link up with her and do the same on here. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the negative, hard times that we are going through. I hope that you will also take the time each week to recognize the great things that happen in your life!

So here are some of my favorite things from this past week:

1. I don't share pictures of my kids often online. It isn't because I don't think they are totally adorable and I want to share their cuteness with the world, but I just want to protect them the best I can. But I will share occasionally. This week after much deliberation, I decided to push the baby tank on a run. It's heavy. It's hard. All of that didn't matter though because Gavin and I had so much fun! :) He even got out to run with me for a while. I'm so grateful for this quality time that I get with him!

Healthy Egg Salad Wrap

I love egg salad but it isn't always the healthiest option. So today I made a more clean version. I made it with one egg, but it could easily be doubled.  You can also try adding other things to it like tomatoes, spinach, etc.  Let me know what you think!

Healthy Egg Salad Wrap

Ingredients: (organic & non-gmo if possible)

1 Hard boiled Egg
1 TBSP Plain Greek Yogurt
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
1 TBSP Salsa
Tortilla

Instructions:

  • Chop egg.
  • Mix egg, yogurt, and mustard together in a bowl.
  • Spoon mixture onto tortilla, lettuce or wrap of choice
  • Top with salsa or toppings of choice 
  • Wrap and enjoy!

T25 Week 2 Meal Plan & 10k Training

10K training
10K Training
10K training? Are you wondering if that was a typo? I can't remember if I mentioned this last week, but I signed up for another 10K. I find that for me, if I don't have an end game in mind then my motivation suffers. So when my friend asked if I wanted to do a 10K with her, I said OK! Now...I'm not entirely sure that I'm ready. I haven't done more than 4 miles in a month. My long run on Saturday was rough.  I tore a contact so I was running with only one usable eye. :P That made things a little tricky.  I spent just as much time trying to not trip over random rocks and sticks as I did trying to keep pace!! HAHA! My legs were super tired from T25 this week also so it was just rough all around. I will try for 5 next weekend and then the following weekend is race day. But here is what really matters, I am trying my best and I'm spending some awesome quality time with my friend! I'm really looking forward to it. And I'm not going to lie, I'm REALLY happy that the course is flat! LOL! Running where I live, it is impossible to go anywhere without a hill. :P Overall I feel good. I think I will be able to finish the 10K with a respectable time and hopefully not hold my friend back.

How to Stay Motivated

My tips for staying motivated with your health and fitness.
I can’t even count the number of times I have started a change in diet or a workout program, just to fall off the wagon a couple of weeks later. It’s so exciting at first, right? You have this shiny new plan. You are determined. THIS time you are going to finally make it work. And then a week goes by and the newness wears off. Life gets busy. You miss a workout here. You lose control of a food choice there. Suddenly weeks have gone by since your last workout. All of the progress you made with your nutrition is gone. You think ‘What’s the point? I’ve already screwed up. I’m back at square one.’ You’ve lost all motivation.

Does this sound familiar? Have you been there too? It can be tough to stay motivated. I understand. I have been there too! There are still days when I struggle to make myself do my workout or make the right food choice. I just wanted to share a few tips that have helped me stay on track. Hopefully they will help you also!

Let’s face it. The holidays can be tough. Our lives get crazy with festivities, shopping, eating and drinks. Is it possible to survive the holidays and come out on the other side feeling like dirt? Is it possible to enjoy the holidays and stay healthy? Of course!! Let me help you! Halloween has passed but we have Thanksgiving coming and then Christmas and New Year’s after that. Let’s make a plan so that you can enjoy your holidays while also staying on track. It’s all about moderation and allowing yourself small indulgences by choosing what you want most! You don’t have to deprive yourself of the foods you love during the holidays. You just need to find the balance. I will teach you how!

21 Day Fix Results & What Comes Next

I’m a little off schedule this week. I spent the weekend away dealing with the loss of a family member, so I’m a little out of sync. But I wanted to make sure that I took the time to post my 21 Day Fix results for you guys. I cannot say enough about this program. Seriously. I LOVED the workouts. The nutrition is so simple. And guys...let’s be honest, for me nutrition is the hardest thing to master and if I can do it YOU can do it!!
