Changing it up - Transitioning from Body Beast to Insanity Max30

I will miss my workout buddy. Life has been CRAZY around here! We have had two birthdays in the past 6 weeks, our Mexico trip, spring sports starting, the kids' marathon and my AWESOME accountability groups that are kicking butt. It has been fun but there are not enough hours in the day sometimes. :) One thing that has remained constant as always are my workouts. However...I'm going to be totally honest...I've kind of gotten a little bored with Body Beast. I like lifting weights, but I miss the mixture with cardio and weights. I know...I can't believe I just said I missed cardio either! LOL! I always tell my clients that they need to be doing something that they like to do (as much as anyone 'likes' to workout) or they won't be able to stay consistent. That is the point I was getting to. I was really struggling to get myself up to go downstairs and do a workout that I wasn't thrilled about. So last weekend after talking with my husband, the decision was made...it was time to switch things up.

For me this is more than just switching up my workout. You may be thinking 'Big deal?!'. But I hate quitting anything. It just drives me nuts, but I also know that I won't be happy for the next 5 weeks if I keep doing it. An even bigger issue for me is that I have LOVED working out with my husband. It is such great quality time together that we get in the mornings. It makes me sad that we won't be doing that anymore because he is planning on finishing Body Beast and starting another round. But I know this is the best decision for both of us. So here we go. :)

This little cutie makes workouts extra fun when I get a late start! All of that to say...if you haven't already noticed through social media...I am starting another round ofInsanity Max30. I really went back and forth between that and P90X3. I love both programs, but really it came down to timing. We are heading to Summit in Nashville in July and I don't have enough time to do a full round of P90X3 before I go. So Insanity Max30 it is! :) I do really like this program. The cardio is so challenging but it is also awesome for building strength and I don't need any equipment. Bonus!

In regards to nutrition, I have still been struggling with the transition to plant-based eating. I have been doing a lot of research on how much better it is for you. However, we struggle to eat enough. Our palates are not varied enough I think to really fully experience everything plant-based living has to offer. So I think (much to my dismay) for at least the time being, we are going to do 50/50. I will be introducing some animal protein back into our diet at least for a little while until we can better get a handle on our eating. I know especially for my husband and the amount of weight he is lifting, he is hungry ALL OF THE TIME. LOL! So he will be happy about this development.

My meal plan this week isn't going to be in a pretty format since we are already well into the week, but I do still have a plan to share. I like to make lists of what we have available for breakfast, dinners, etc and then I can pick what works for us on that day. It makes it feel slightly less structured and we can go based on what we feel like eating.  Here is my plan for the remainder of the week:

Breakfasts:

Shakeology w/ berries
Shakeoogy w/ banana & Almond butter
Ezekiel cinnamon raisin muffins & almond butter

Snacks:
Cinnamon Quinoa Bake (recipe coming this week)
Cucumber & Tomato Salad

Lunches:

Leftovers from dinner (my favorite!)
Black bean burger w/ mixed greens and veggies

Dinners:

Quinoa Black Bean & Corn Tacos (it is Cinco de Mayo after all) ;)
Clean Eating Sloppy Joes
Quinoa Lettuce Wraps (recipe coming this week)
Cauliflower Pizza
Dinner Out

I always plan for one dinner a week where I don't have to cook. It gives me something to look forward to and doesn't leave me feeling deprived! I will also be sharing a lot more of what I am eating on my Facebook page to help me stay accountable.

I am also starting to prepare for my next challenge group starting on May 18th. We will be doing a Summer Slimdown Bootcamp! I'm super excited for this!  It isn't just about getting summer ready but also being comfortable in your own skin! We will work through a Beachbody program of your choice and I help you work through the program providing tips, tricks and extra accountability. We even do little contests for prizes and it is a lot of fun.

If you are looking for some extra help and accountability to get ready for summer, make sure that you fill out the application below. I will be in touch and we can talk about how I can help you get summer ready!

Have a great day!
